The day is set.

Cheryl had a good appointment with Dr. Burke, the gynecological-oncologist. She was very impressed with his concern and his thoroughness. She has been scheduled for surgery Tuesday, July 20th, some time in the afternoon at Memorial Health.
Our good news today was that she will not have chemo while in the hospital as we were told previously but will have a couple of weeks of healing before starting. They will be performing a complete hysterectomy and removing as many tumors as they safely can. Everything will be biopsied to determine the future course of treatment.
Dr. Burke said that Cheryl may be eligible for a clinical trial, depending on insurance and biopsy results.
Please continue to pray for healing. We already have a sense of peace as we face the surgery. Also, pray for our children as they travel to check on Mom.
We really appreciate all the blog comments, cards, calls and everything else everyone has already done for us.

  2. @Aunt Corinne, yes, Memorial Hospital is in Savannah. :-) Dr Burke is the only gyn onc in the area - there are none practicing in Hinesville currently.
